Has anyone shot off the suppressor? I was at the lease and lined up on a doe pulled the trigger and the suppressor went flying off. I cannot find it, sounds funny but this s^%t really happened.Looked for 3 hours after the snow melted.Going back in a coupe weeks with metal detector and give it one more try. Do they usually fly off straight?

This is why I don’t use QD systems. I know some people swear by them but I look at it as something else that can go wrong. The one I saw went straight to about 30 yards from a 6.5 CM.

If a DT silencer goes downrange, then the person must have never checked it in months or years. QD on the other hand is the cause of every one I ever heard of. Even on here.

A guy in the lane next to me at the rifle range a couple of weeks ago blasted one off the front of his rifle. It landed just past the 50 yard targets and probably could've gone another 10 or 20 yards if it wasn't for the berm. When we found it, it looked like it was installed slightly off because it appeared to have been struck about three times on the inner wall before it finally let loose. It was completely worthless at that point, of course.

Are you sure you've got the right thread adapter? Buddy of mine threaded a 5/8x24 adapter onto a 1/2x28 threaded barrel. Felt like it screwed on tight but the whole mess went 30 yards downrange the first time he pulled the trigger.

Wow, first time I heard of a case of this. I have a Banish 30, direct thread to my barrel. I will say this after firing
several rounds at it loosened some, so attention has to be in order.
Wonder if warranty covers acts as this?

Gun luck, gives us an update later....

Been there, done that, was happy that mine didn't go flying into the water tank as I sometimes would shoot hogs on the other side of the tank. Mine happened on video. Mine went 35-40 yards with grazing baffle strikes that didn't warrent replacement or repair of the suppressor itself, but the mount was damaged in the process and was replaced. Mine went straight-ish. I don't know if it went straight and then tumbled laterally 3 or 4 yards or if it flew laterally. As for the distance, yours may have gone more or less than mine, but based on my experience, I would say that you need to search to at least that far from your shooting point. Personally, I would have not though it would have gone that far. I see above where someone had one fly much farther, so you may have your search cut out for you.

The one I saw get launched went about 30 yards straight from the rifle as I recall. Not sure what it did after it hit the ground. It was on a 300 blackout. I can’t remember if it was supers or subs, but I’m betting supers.
