Took down three mgt bucks this weekend. Took SIL #2 and myself three hours on the F250 tail gate to debone them durn things. Got a big ice chest packed to the gills with meat and ice. Now I have to go get a freezer. Then I have to vaccuum seal the chunk meat and get it frozen.

Ah, the joy!

For me it's feral hogs. The freezer is already pretty full, but we have a 50 acre field that's due to be planted with corn in mid-February and the lessee has asked that we PLEASE go hog hunting in February.

It'll likely be cold, but a couple of years ago we had sorghum planted and the hogs destroyed about a third of the crop, so we'll be out after 'em in February and beyond.

There will be sausageā€¦

Just took 88 pounds of deboned meat to Joshua Deer Processing yesterday. 20 pounds of chili meat and the rest in smoked german Jap and cheese sausage.
