Not much mass this year, kinda thin, but maybe he'll put on a little more. And yeah, I know everything looks better from the rear. grin For my place (western Hill Country), this is wide. 'Don't seem to have too many wide genes on the place. Some mass, some points, but I haven't seen both with width. I watched him from the blind Tuesday afternoon. One of the few with real potential. Have a good summer buddy! up

My best one made it through. 1-2" narrower than your boy, but still pretty wide and already 10 pts. Just need a good spring and summer!

yep, I hunted last weekend at our place NE from Fairfield and saw a really good 9 point that none of us had seen all season or on camera. I only had a spike tag left for out there. He should still be around for next year.

That’s just the sort of deer that rewards the patient.

Best of luck, Creek. He looks like he's postured to make some good gains for next year.

My target from last year showed up for the first time about a month ago. I actually put a stalk on this guy last year, crawling the last 150 yards or so, and ended up taking an off-hand shot from open tall grass, that hit high. It dropped him like a sack and I thought he was done, but he quickly regained his composure while I was navigating the tall grass and got to his feet and scalded out of there for the next county.

He's still looking pretty stout for post-rut, and assuming he makes it, he's back at #1 for next year. You can see the scar from the shot on his left high shoulder.

Good luck fella's, can't wait to see what they all look like come September.

Five of us hunt on 2500 acres, all of our shooters survived with the exception of one, (7) shooters this year, and we killed (1) LOL!! Got pics of three of them yesterday morning before the freeze.

I have several bucks that made it through the season! I think they are way better than average foe east Texas where the ranch is. I don't know how to post a picture but have a few on my phone I took from the trail camera while wifey and I scrolled the pictures. I can forward them to someone so they could post here if they are willing!
