I’ve got an upright freezer in my garage. It is 100% full right now. I can find cuts of meat that easily in the current situation. What do yall use to organize your freezer space to find what your looking for easily?

I bought a Hamilton Beach upright freezer with 7 drawers at Costco, works great for organizing.

My wife found some baskets that fit the shelves of our upright freezer. Meat is sorted by basket. vegetables are on a different shelf, ect.... Pretty easy to find what you need.

I just bought a chest freezer this year. I knew I needed some way to organize and move meat from the bottom to the top depending on what we needed. Found some stackable metal baskets on Amazon for exactly that purpose. Bit expensive but $120 for 8 baskets that were adjustable in length to fit the chest interior were well worth it. I have 4 deer, 1 hog, and 50lb of chicken in a 10cuft chest freezer, so I am getting the most out of the space with the baskets.

I have some baskets from amazon as well. But I've found these insulated bags that come with my orders from Snake River Farms work great. Each one will hold 25 lbs of smoked sausage. [Linked Image]

Only have one freezer at the moment since moving. Will soon invest in a garage freezer. Organization is currently as follows:

Vacuum seal, label, date

Top Row - Venison Roast/Steaks
2nd Row - Venison Products (grind, meatballs, tamales, etc)
3rd Row - Pork/Beef
4th Row - Fowl
5th Row - Fish
Shelves - Wife’s things

I just constantly attempt to keep it as organized as much possible. Sometimes I just have to take a few minutes and organize enough to make it manageable. Certain times of the year our just seems to fuller than others. I try to let it run down some and then really organize it.

Have 3 freezers put everything from current year in one and try to keep each freezer separate age wise. Other than that it’s vacuum packed and labeled.

Throw it all in there helter skelter and adjust your menu. Cook what’s on top.

I had a pretty good handle on it but this year has been good and I’m beyond stuffed…to the point I had to borrow a small chest from a buddy eek2

I use construction plastic bags and keep each animal in a bag (or more) but they are stacked in chronological order…work on the oldest first and mix in the other stuff as I want it…I keep the upright stocked for the wife to get burger, burger patties, breakfast and smoked sausage and chorizo. She lets me know when something is running low and I don’t notice.

Chest freezer only for me due to past experiences with uprights. After deer season the new meat goes into the bottom in reusable type fabric shopping bags, hamburger left , steak right, all neatly stacked. Last year's meat to the top, inventory taken. Other items, butter, cheese etc to one side. Frozen water 2L bottles take up space when the bottom begin to appear.
