Waiting for the storm to roll through before I head to the lease. Have to pick up a deer at Rust on the way back home Sat. You know business is slow when they call you for pick up on the 4th day after dropping off!

Wasn’t planning to go again until Jan 2 but Rust gives 2 weeks to pick up and it’s already been 8. Rained the entire 2hrs on the way out. Unpacked and checked cameras at my 2 locations. Rained stopped and sun appeared for 5 min. Don’t really want another deer unless it’s big daddy so I’m really just pig hunting till Sat. Need to take care of a couple things at the trailer tomorrow.

Out New Year's Eve for, probably, a while, unless I have to run back and forth. She's always liked New Years Eve in the country, probably remembering times when we did a lot more interesting things...and were a lot more limber.  'Pastor's bringing two of his boys later, then Operation Orphans hunt on the 11th.

I had to work... stupid end of the month stuff. Son and grandson Hudson went to Breckenridge today and sat from 6- noon. Saw a good buck for a split second and he was gone before he could shoot. Then they got stuck for about 10 minutes driving back out.
Oh well, it's hunting not killing. Maybe we'll go again this weekend or maybe the last weekend when Hudson is back.

Yep! Seen 5 so far, no horns, I’m in a stare down with 2 doe at 15 yards as I try to type this. I’ve got to get an elevated stand at this spot.

Stompy, that’s why I bought 4 wheelers. I have all vehicles needed. I'm not shooting anything this year, I just go out to watch and count. Figured I could skip a couple of days to let it dry out.
