I shot a 160 low fence last year

My wife and kids don’t give a S about hunting

So, I hunt our land and best guess this is what I spend yearly to hunt our land

But our place will produce a 150 plus about every 5th year I’d say

It’s a lot of time and effort but I love it

But if I kept my expenses the same and decided to chase something else

What woukd yall chase?

Idk I am just kicking this around

No high fence, something harder please

Louisiana ducks and Dakota pheasants?

I’ve hunted my tail off this year and maybe I’m just venting but I’m close to making a change

Wyoming horse back elk hunt.
I have outfitters info who I've hunted with 3 times.
First class outfit, good camps, good horses, good guides and a good time.

I've killed 2 great bulls with these guys one was a 346 7x7 and a 315 6x6.

Here's my 346 bull.

^^^^^^ This would be a bucket list hunt for me for sure. I think life has passed me by on this though. I can still dream.

Do the big bull elk dance for sure. I did a New Mexico muzzle loader hunt 20 years ago in Unit 15 and got this nice bull at 154 yards. The only bad thing about this hunt was the altitude 9000 ft!

Is it steep country, or flatland?

Steep, but you ride a horse from before daylight till after dark then get up and do it again the next day. You'll ride till you find them then ty off and hunt.

$5k will get you an aoudad hunt. Pretty fun too.

It will also get you an antelope hunt in Wyoming or New Mexico.

Black bear hunt can be had for $5k as well.

Elk or mule deer will start around $7500 and go up from there for an outfitted hunt.

Ducks and pheasant…you can do a lot of bird hunting for $5k if you don’t care about resort style lodging.

For it is not the quarry that we truly seek, but the adventure.

Angus, That's a great bull! On son and my list. I'd appreciate if you'd share by PM the outfitter info. Please Sir

I’ve killed one really big bull quite a few years ago. Quite a few marginal ones. Now, at 82, know damn well that I can’t take the mountains.
