I attended an archery tournament yesterday to watch my son shoot. This particular venue is set up really nice with bleacher seating and overhead TV monitors up close so that you don’t have to use binoculars to see someone’s arrows on target. The shot group in the center of my pic is five wood arrows shot at 20 yards. The kicker is that the shooter is a woman that’s probably in her late 50s shooting a stick bow, off the shelf, no sights, using a finger tab. The photo is off the TV screen in front of me. I’m impressed. Also impressive are the skills of so many of the competitors. There were four targets (shooters) on each “bale”. My son shot a 298 out of a possible 300. His was the lowest score of the 4. The scoring on that bale was 300, 299, 299, and his 298. One of the 299s was a teenager.
