Hopefully I will be harvesting an axis soon and I would like to use the hide to produce a purse/bag and an oversized wallet or satchel for my girlfriend. Please refer me to anyone between Tarrant- Uvalde Co. I understand that is a large area of land but I am willing to get done what is necessary to get this done.

Thanks for any help

I have nothing to offer in the way of recommendations, but your first hurdle will be to get the hide tanned first before any bag/wallet maker will mess with it. And getting the hide tanned will probably be more difficult than finding someone to make what you want.

I had some hides that I needed made into pillows (already tanned). I called a tanner in Denton and dropped them off. He had a lady who did it.

In other words, call the tanner (or taxidermist) you plan to use. They probably have ideas.

He’s in Denton. Haven’t had him do anything like that for me but I bet he would take on a project like that. His leather work has been nothing but great in my experience.
