Really hard based on the two pics shown. I will take a stab, but it is off many secondary things one would normally look for since the pics dont show the primary traits well:

He appears light on the hooves, he appears fluffed up as if it were a cold morning and that can make him look older but also hide scars, loose skin etc,, neck is clearly not meeting at the brisket since there is a defined separation on the frontal pic, he doesn’t have a big back sway or pot belly, and hocks show some squared staining, and beginning to shpw
Some scarring on the legs but not significant…all points to a 4.5 yo deer. I could even go 3.5 if this is a deer from your HF place stompy with full time free choice protein, but i think 4.5yo.

I dont see a ton of age on him, but could be way off. That face pic looks to show some age, but i am not sure if it is just the way he is chewing at the moment the pic was taken, but i have seen 2.5yo bucks have an old looking face that doesnt match any other body characteristics

He is from my HF, and yes he gets lots of groceries, corn, wheat, protein. And it was a cold morning.

Looks like some scaring on knees, hollow in the gut area on side view, head down makes back arch

BOOM!!! Finally, yes 2.5 year old 5pt. He was a spike last year and should have shot him then. My firefighter nephew coming to hopefully take him out. Thanks for all the guesses, hard to tell age in a picture, I think. It is for me anyway.

Strangest 2yo I’ve ever seen.
What would be distinctive enough about a yearling spike to be able to recognize as a 2yo 5pt?

This particular stand where these pics were taken is 350 yards from my house. I also have a corn and protein feeder 150 yards from my back porch for my wife to watch deer. He was born to one of my house Does, and has lived around my house. So no, I don't have pics of him as a fawn or a spike, but I know the buck. When you see them almost every day, you start to recognize them pretty easy. Just like my cows, I know which cow is which without ever looking at an ear tag. The buck is 2.5 years old.

Fun stuff, seeing horns in that 1st pic likely would have made some estimate guesses different, I'm guessing. Aa has been mentioned ad nauseum, aging "in a vacuum" is hard at best and at times, an outright impossibility. On a place and in da field, you know your herd, the deers' inferiority/superiority mannerisms, aging characteristics, body sizes, colorings, antler development and growth, etc.etc.etc. Could go on and on and on from my nearly 50 years of field and hunting experience but pretty sure we all get the gist.
