We went out yesterday afternoon around 3:00 pm to our stands. It was 78 degrees outside. By 5:10 it was 55 degrees. The winds were blowing hard out of the north. My buddy texted me said a big buck with tall tines winded him and was headed in my direction. Got the gun up and started glassing. I had two small spikes come in, one was still at the feeder. Eleven minutes later I saw him bolt. I looked off to the left of the food plot into the woods and caught movement. He was coming straight in towards the feeder. The shot was maybe sixty seventy yards. He bucked when I shot, ran maybe thirty yards and went down.

I was shooting my custom LRI 6.5 CM, shooting Hornady 143 gr ELD-X bullet. the bullet entered behind right from shoulder and exited behind left front shoulder.

We hadn't seen this buck on any of our cameras. For my area of Young county he’s a pretty good buck. I’m not good at scoring. He's got tall tines and good mass. I’m thinking 120ish +\-.

Happy Thanksgiving everyone!🦃

Distance is not the issue, but the winds can make it interesting!

That would be my wife's horse Sissy. My horse Scout is somewhere close. They come in each morning and evening for their scoop of sweet feed and crimped oats. Extremely lovable moochers they are. They're both very sweet and great around the grandkids and strangers.

Nice buck there sir. That cold front definitely had the deer moving yesterday.
My oldest shot his first buck yesterday evening a little before you dropped yours
