Very cool. That first pic looks like mesquite trees, so maybe west Texas? Back then most of the deer were concentrated in the Hill Country and south Texas, so probably not too far west.

Thank you for sharing, those photos bring back some great memories of deer camp back in the day. I was raised in a large family and most of my kin loved deer camp, we had some great times, I don't remember us taking many deer, but the get together was always great, too bad the elders who held the family together are gone now and the family members have moved all over the country.

I have some pics of my grandparents and their covered wagon pulled by a team of mules in the early 1900’s. They were migrating from Tennessee to the Indian Nation that would become Oklahoma.
