I see pictures on here, TV shows, on camera, and hear people talking about how their deer will stay anytime hogs show up. Anytime deer are at my feeder and hogs 1 or 21 show up, the deer are gone. Just wondering what your experiences are and what dictates whether the deer stay or go. We have javelinas in our country and the same thing happens when any number of javelinas show up. The deer are out of there.

I have seen them stay for a very short time, a little nervous, but mostly they just leave as the hogs arrive.

Depends on what kind of deer, mature bucks that are hungry stay put and sometimes move hogs by walking at them with antlers down pointing in their direction where I hunt…

Our most commonly seen deer at feeders with hogs are lone yearlings. For the most part if it’s one hog the deer will hang around if it’s a pack of hogs most of the time deer will take off.

We have feeders penned so no hogs, if we hand corn outside of the pen deer will typically hang around in pen with hogs in sight on hand corn. Don’t really think there is a hard and fast rule.
