My current nighttime hog hunting set up is a AR15 in 6.8 SPC with a Sightmark Wraith 4K Max and Sniper Hog Light. It's been getting the job done. Looking at putting together a new set up with my Armalite AR10 in 308. I'm debating if I should go with another DNV or step up to a thermal scope.
This rifle will be used 100% of the time for hunting hogs at nighttime. Not shooting open fields. I have feeders set up about 100 yards away down senderos in heavy brush. My average shots so far have been around 75 yards. Longest I think I'd shoot out to is maybe 150.
I'm debating if I should just go with a Sightmark Wraith 4K Mini 4x32 and a lower priced thermal scanner like a Rix K2/K3 or just step up to a thermal like the Rix Leap L3. I'm in South Texas with super high humidity.
Any advice would be much appreciated.

You could have both with the DNT Optics ThermNight and for hogs at 100-150 yards would be about the good limit of the 256 resolution optic, IHMO.
If you are going with Rix, I would go with the Storm S6 instead of the Leap L3 for a couple hundred more or the Storm S3 for a few hundred less. You won't be shooting far enough to need a LRF to do your ballistics for a .308 being used inside 150 yards. You also won't need all the extra optical magnification.

I thought about the Storm S6 but I'm use to higher base magnification. My Wraith 4K Max is a 3X base mag and I still use the digital zoom to ensure proper shot placement to have the hogs drop dead in it's place. My eye sight isn't great. Brush is too heavy in my area to have them run off to track down. I feel like the optical zoom on the Leap L3 will really help me and not degrade the picture that much compared to digital zoom.

My hunting is similar to yours, use the Rattler. It has 2x base but I usually go to 4x - decent mag and FOV. Have a green light over the feeder that does no good for IR. Got a rabbit @ 100 yds on 16x, yes, could ID. Last time out it was sprinkling heavy, still could see well with the IR. Don't think I'd go below 384 - ID is more difficult. I have an ATN low res moncle, yes it works for close scanning but poor for ID. Looking at the L6, might get one for the Long Ranger 308.

If it’s thick brush like you say I’d tend towards a thermal. I’ve learned the hard way about how much visibility you lose with DNV due to backscatter.
