I've had various irons in my fires since before the season opened and, accordingly, haven't committed much time to pondering on whitetails. Oh, I did take a stroll opening morning just to say that I was keeping my hand in, but that's been about the extent of things.

The past two days have seen a marked increase in rutting activity, with one of my older team members making laps around the house as he pesters the house pasture does. He keeps making mistakes like this and somebody is gonna solve all his problems for him.

Not me...but somebody!

On account of him running? I’d just driven past him on the way to the barn. After giving me the stink eye, he put it back in gear and resumed chasing the gals!
