Get back. Coffee, maybe a second to take with me, and maybe a granola/protein bar/snack to knock the edge off in the blind.

We will eat a cinnamon roll, cookie or turnover with coffee before we leave to hunt. When we get back from our morning hunt around 9am, its eggs, bacon and sausage all added to tortillas for a big breakfast taco.

My 13 year old had a lot of learning experiences this year.

- His first deer.
- First time skinning a deer.
- First time taking a crap in the woods during a rainstorm because he didn't listen to his father who told him not to eat a gas station coffee and breakfast pizza slice on the way to the stand in the morning.

Coffee before

Likely [censored] in the woods (I've just embraced this as a hunting ritual and never leave on an AM hunt without toilet paper)

Breakfast and a little more coffee upon return. Probably bacon or sausage and eggs wrapped in a tortilla

I have to be up for a few hours before i can eat anything, but coffee is a must.

Having a big breakfast after a morning hunt is always nice, especially if your hunting with others and sit and talk about each others sit.

I mixed it up this year, had big breakfast at 0500 before leaving at 5:45 for the 30 minute Ranger ride/ walk to blind. It helped me stay on stand until 10:00. In the past it's something very light, like a biscuit and coffee first thing then on to the stand. When I'd get hungry around 0900 I'd have to eat an energy bar or something to keep me on stand until 10:00.

I liked the bigger breakfast when I got up at 5.

In the old days, the camp cook would wake everyone up with the smell of what he was cooking. 'Wonderful days. grin

And, after recently experiencing an inexperienced camp cook, a big breakfast can help with those that had a really good time the night before and have quite recently gone to bed. up

I'm never hungry first thing in the morning, but I need my coffee. I get up extra early for coffee so as to not cause issues in the blind. walking

I'll normally take a thermos of coffee to the blind with me for the cold morning hunts, and sometimes take a snack too. I also normally hunt until around 1030, then usually back at camp by 1100, so breakfast is usually brunch or lunch.

Before I leave the house for the woods, I fix scrambled eggs with a meat, cheeses and tortillas and other pre cooked food to take with me.

Sometimes breakfast depends on dinner the night before, how much did I eat and at what time.
Before the morning hunt right off the bat it's two cups of coffee, if hungry I will nuke up breakfast tacos with a cold glass of milk , if not carry a pack of Strawberry Pop Tarts to the blind.

Similar here. To begin with, I don't wake up at last minute and try to make get out befiore legal shooting time. Scrambling some eggs w/breakfast sausage or left over meat from dinner to make some quick tacos just isn't very hard. Most of the other hunters rush in at 9 to cook and they sit down with quite a spread. I come in whenever. Pretty soon afterwards, I eat lunch at, well, lunch time while the others eat "lunch" before going out in the afternoon. Dinner just falls into play like it should.

I’m not a fan of crapping in the dark right after I get settled in the stand so no breakfast and definitely no coffee . I always gotta keep tp in the bag either way 🤣
