Who hunts by the Solunar tables? Curious as the “best” days this month coincide with a full moon.

I wonder how well this works. I’ve shot deer on the good days. I’ve shoot deer on the bad as well. I will say I’ve shot my biggest buck ever on a good day, during the high traffic time too. BUT he was also pretty consistent coming to the feeder though too.

The only thing ya need to know is moon rise and every 4 hours after that. Like on a full moon ...you want to hunt mornings from 05:00 am until 09:30...for me. Moon rise at 15:00 be in the blind at 14:30.
You can get all info aps and it will tell ya when to hunt on all phases. You will be surprised how accurate the deer movements during the various moon phases.
Moon phases also coincide for fish also.
Good Luck

Many movement studies have shown the moon phase has an insignificant impact on deer movement. And while I do try to pay attention to the charts, I have noticed no correlation between moon and deer movement.

kry...I like to study as much about deer as I can get. I would like for you to put one of those studies up for all of us to read. I would really enjoy reading those kind of things.

Here's one. I'll find more.

Kry...Thanks for sending the data from Pen state...very good material but opinions are just that. The facts were how many hours do deer travel in accordance to the moon and was fun to read. I might imagine with the data they acquired they would have the times of movement which hunters are interested in. My experience is deer move during a full moon while I am hunting which the data shows the movement but not the times and with less animals at any one time.LOL
Thanks again I appreciate all the effort.
Continue with the efforts

I’ll stay in the stand much longer during full moon days. Wife shot her (our) biggest buck last year around 11:15am, within minutes of the start of a “major times” according to the Primetimes Solunar table that I follow. Otherwise, kinda hit and miss. Next full moon is coming later this week.

I use the tables when calling predators and not so much when deer hunting. Let's face it, most hunters are sitting on feeders and the deer know these "active feeding times". My favorite method for hunting a whitetail buck is rattling and I don't see the active times affect my success that much.
Adios,
gary
