In full swing in Freestone county. Every buck I've seen in the last three weeks was pushing, chasing, or cruising and looking for doe.

On my lease in Nacogdoches county, I haven't seen any chasing yet but the bucks are scraping hard.

Been warm and very slow. Everything is green still, pin oaks had a good acorn crop. No evidence of chasing. Combine all those and no need for any deer to move very far for anything.

In north east Red River, bucks seemed to be getting it on their mind. Marking branches and starting to chase a little, does are not having any part of it yet.

Not much that I've seen. Everything on camera is at night still, maybe this cold front...

This past week in Freestone county it was on! I saw deer while at work in town in Fairfield right off interstate 45 in a field chasing everyone morning! Also some guys I work with that live in the county have seen them chasing for the past week and a half in and around the same area!

Bucks are pushing does in Leon county, my son saw a real good buck chasing does this morning.
Other than my grandson bow hunting, we decided not to hunt it this year.
I might go sit and try to take some hogs?

Anderson county this weekend, they are starting. Had a buck come into my regular doe and fawn. Not chasing but interested. Started sunday with three doe bleats, 20 min later a tending buck grunt, 20 min later i he the rat pack for about 8 seconds. 30 min later had a huge spike, prolly 3-4 years old. Big body, just a dream dear to take. plus spikes are like free meat if you can get a big one. Anyway determined it was indeed a spike, got the gun out the window safety off, crosshairs set and about to hold my breath and the damn feeeder went off. He was gone. Waited about a minute and did a couple low key grunts and nothing. Gone like a fart in the wind.

You have to remember, they might not be drinking as much as we are.

In Smith County and they are active but only at night. Very seldom in the day on camera. Could be changing though, does are more active but still mostly at night. Buddy says they aren’t very active yet in Van Zandt county either. I think when the temps begin to drop we will get more action. At least I hope so.

In Marion County, very few daytime pictures. Have a couple with immature bucks but most of the doe pictures and mature bucks are night time only at this time.

In Rusk County opening weekend was slow but hunted Monday thru Wednesday and the action picked up. Saw quite a few bucks chasing does along with a couple of bucks roaming around looking for does. I didn't hunt my feeder but decided to hunt my open field and that was where all the action was. Haven't seen much on the game camera at the feeder.

one of my places is in NE Freestone county, they were pushing and out looking opening weekend, I went back last Thursday and took a nice buck that was trailing hard but the doe wasn't ready.
