i don't know what part of the world your hunting in or what your typical bucks look like. i too would lean that he's probably older than 3..probably 4 anyways. He's a good looking deer though and no harm done leaving him in the breeding pool.

Good restraint but poor on the hoof aging, dude is more 4.5-5, IMO.

I am in Val verde county. I had to chase him out of the pin and got to 20 yards walking towards him. We put him on a no shoot list but we shall see.

Hard for me to pass on any legal buck that has legs that look stumpy on a large, thick body.

Hopefully your on a larger tract where you don’t have to worry about your neighbors taking him.

I might be wrong but did not look mature to me. For instance look at this guy that we all agreed is ready to take.

Yes we are lucky and have a large space and he lives right in the middle of it.

He’s a great looking buck. We have and have had bucks with similar shape and setup.
He looks older than 3 but I dont ever think its a mistake to let one walk-not so the other way around.

especially for a buck that seems to like to stay close to home. maybe higher odds of continuing to see him in later seasons.

I see 4 in that guy, but regional variants may have some confused. You know the deer in your area better than most on here.
