I guess I'm no different than most. Making my way through the phases of being a hunter. I'm not huge on wall hangers these days. I'd rather set my sights on age and herd management. I've been watching this guy on my place for a while. I had him pegged as the old man of the property. Super smart, and hard to pattern. I had him at twenty-four yards on day one of bow season, put my 20-yard pin slightly high and let it fly. Right under him..... turns out my pin got moved somehow. I'd shot just the day before and I was dead nuts on. He disappeared like a puff of smoke for a month. He showed up just a few days ago. I sat all weekend, passing up some deer that would make most men drool. He showed himself this morning at daybreak. This time I didn't miss! By no means my biggest, but dangit I'm happy as a clam with this old boy. I gladly punched my trophy tag on him. The rest of the season I get to watch the young guy that helps me with my ranch chase a big boy. Great buck, and nice photography work setting up the picture! Take note, people! Thanks!! An iPhone, stuck in the cupholder of a Pelican cooler, using a 10 second timer. That's all it takes.
