I ran the mower around to clear the leaves and broadcast some winter wheat. I set my blades to the tallest setting, and run it on the lowest idle. Made a mock scrape, too. Clears the leaves without clearing the acorns. The deer stay on the paths I cut through the leaves. They don’t like walking through the leaves at all. Buddy told me they like to walk in the dirt because it is quieter. I have made a few mineral sites on the place by now, I even had a bait pile back in the back edge of the place but that’s long gone. The deer ignore all of that stuff, so I moved my camera to the clearing by the lagoon. They are afraid of all the natural funnels.
All they care about is the acorns. Highest blade setting and lowest idle clears the leaves but does not remove the acorns. Doesn’t even disturb the seed I broadcast. And I was working out there last night, had the truck and the mower out, spilled gasoline, have stinky feet, etc. Does still came and only walked in the paths I cleared in the leaves.

Yeah i mow paths for the deer to use as the season gets close. They use those paths a lot of the time. They prefer to walk where it is more quiet, just like we do when we are trying to be sneaky. If upur life depended on being stealthy, you would want to walk on as few leaves as possible
