Since I am looking for a deer lease camper, are there any brands I should stay away from? Any brands that I should only consider? Is there anything I should avoid or are there any must haves for most people? Also, besides fb market place, where else should I look?

In my head, I was thinking as long as it wasn't leaking and had cold ac, I would probably be happy.

any brand can be hit or miss depending on how it was cared for. If merely looking for a lease camper, a/c is very important in TX ... also look for water stains and soft spots walls/floor. As a big guy, I always look at the bathroom arrangement to make sure you can sit on the toilet and stand in the shower/tub.

Will it just be you or will you have spouse/buddies/kids/grandkids joining you? plan on space needed for size of group that will likely be using it. having a slide out usually makes a lot more space when set up. Typically with a spouse, the nicer the better (at least for me).

will it have cover or setting out in the open? sealing the roof annually makes a big difference either way.

have water, electric, sewer available? a/c can run off a generator, water can be hauled in, depending on location, septic can be put in or use one of the haul off carts.

I have a Jayco and very pleased with it - I agree a slide is very important - I would also lean towards a larger unit rather than a smaller one - get a few people inside and they shrink quickly - check your local Facebook marketplace and there should be many for sale on there

They all leak eventually, roof maintenance is key, but over all a car port is best option.

I am going to be buying a 7x14 enclosed trailer and setting it up for hunting, going to be a fun project.

Also have a Jayco and agree on the slide and size. When it gets cold a 22 foot trailer with four people gets really crowded. Get a 28 foot if you can.

I'd look for something that is 10 years old or newer, not having been lived in full time and I've been told by my buddy at the RV dealership to stay away from Keystones because they leak all the time. Take that last bit for what it is worth.
