as far out as I can see, its gonna stay hot and dry till 11/1. Then of course it will come a turd floater. I hope it rains sometime, if nothing more than to settle all the "dust".
I'm headed to Vernon and Windthorst.

Last year was similar for me. I got my tripod set to hunt a tank that the deer had been using then the rains came and filled every tank, everywhere right before the opener.

I mowed at our place this weekend. Nearly choked to death on the dry grass and dust. I don’t remember it ever being this dry in October

We had a long dry followed by 4 inches in 3 days. That helped but it all sucked in. Can’t plant again for the 4th year. Long drought.
Without a sense of urgency, nothing ever happens.

Hunted a friend’s place this weekend. My stand was about 2 miles from camp. Only about a 15 minute SxS ride, but I’ll be coughing up dirt for a week. It’s dry, dry, dry. No rain in the forecast.

It's stupid hot & dry  I'm sick of it. Have my food plots disks and ready to go but no need to plant just for the seed to burn up. 10 day forecast has us in middle 80's to 90 degrees. Had our Oklahoma youth hunt this weekend and just about choked on the dust. All ended well with my girl hunter shooting a coyote Saturday night and a big doe this morning. It's gonna take about a week to wipe that smile off her face. I'm very happy for her.

Carefull for what you wish for! yea its hot now, next week, local aggie weather man and gal says
upper jet stream will change and start moving different wx patterns into texas. Im ready, those early days
of cooler wx was just a tease, im ready for 40deg mornings.... cloudy and light mist in air, been our best hunt
wx ever!
So dry here in Brenham TX area, it will change i hope soon!

It’s drier than a popcorn fart here, and hot as heck. Only been going out every 30 minutes to stoke the fire in my smoker. Now that I’m done, it’s beer time.

Yep, hot and dry, but most of the deer are still in good shape... Acrons are hitting the ground.

I'm so sick of sweating the blind, I carry a 20V Dewalt fan but 91 degrees inside the little sauna yesterday was brutal.
