If I go into a place nobody else hunts and spread a bucket of corn each day how long does it take before the deer find it? I will be spreading it close to a trail.

12 hours or less if deer traverse the area, 1-3 days otherwise

If it's a trail they use daily, I would say that same day.

Put up a camera and you’ll know for sure.

No longer than 24 hours if there are any deer in the area at all.

Thanks for the reply's. I'm asking for a draw hunt that i got in December. It's a three day hunt and they allow baiting.

In Runnels County I've seen the deer find it in 6 hours.

In Terrell County, on a 10 section ranch of desert, I've seen deer find it in 12 hours. Huge open country. I poured out corn at 6 pm, and there were deer on it at 6 am.

on a draw hunt ask where or if they have already been throwing corn and throw a bunch there. You could sweeten the deal with an added attractant or corn additive that increases the chance of them smelling it, too

When I first bought our ranch it had no feeders. I set one up along with a cellular camera and I got sent pictures of deer before I finished the 1.5 hour drive home.

Same thing I have seen, as mention by others, deer density seems to be the common denominator.

While on a lease in Sterling county, we would spread a bag of corn from the back of a truck on the ranch roads, deer would already be on the line where we started.
