Spent the last couple of days at the lease. I was able to connect with this big boar Saturday morning. I had does coming in late after 9:00 and had just texted my brother I was gonna sit until 10:00 and right after that he comes in and runs the does off. He made it about 100 yards or so. I finally found blood near a red ant bed and he was about 20 more yards away.





I got down from the stand Saturday evening and made it about 40 yards and was about a step and a half before this guy warned me I was too close. I had enough light I could see the path but I could not see the snake. I am not sure if I would have seen him if I would have had my hat light on or not. It was in a little taller grass and blended in very well.





Saw some rutting activity but temps need to start dropping. Evening sits were a little brutal.

Close call there! That's a heck of a hog too!

He was 150lb +.. Big but young. He didn't have very good grinders or cutters.
