I'd decided to take a drive this afternoon late to check the cows and, on a whim, grabbed my Brno ZKK-601 in .223 for a "ride along" companion. While cruising along close to the south fence, I spotted movement in the heavy mesquite and live oak about 60 yards away. Visibility was almost non-existent, but the size, rough shapes and movement screamed "hogs"! I shut off the mule and picked a "hole" in the brush ahead of the moving shapes...if you can call an opening about the size of the top of a five gallon bucket a hole. I'd already run a 70 grain round into the chamber and had my eye glued to the scope when a pig started across the gap. The little rifle barked and a stampede of critters started back the way they'd come...I had the impression that my animal was down and that impression was confirmed by the throaty squeal and kicked-up dust. A quick picture was taken. Now...where the hell are those cows?

My landowners have been reporting daylight hogs as well. I don't get to see them very often. Good job!

Many thanks! Young master Aaron Little (TDK here on the forum) really made a silk purse out of a sow's ear!
