Had a short conversation about 3 weeks ago regarding Army worms in Jack county, rancher said they were bad asked, me how they were in Big D.
At the time was not seeing any worms or moths, last two weeks been seeing a whole bunch of moths so you can bet your azz the worms are in the grass & plants.
Right now glad I did not plant a food crop in Jacksboro.

How are your food plots doing?

On hold; may plant late next week, temp lows look like 50’s, which stops army worms.

my small 6x plots are just laying in wait. I bought seed last week but will have to have some measurable moisture in the forecast before I will even consider planting. Looks like next weekend there is a small chance (34%) with temps dropping into the upper 50s for overnight lows ... It might be Nov or Dec for me.

Rains didn’t come South of Bowie. Stock tanks are kinda ok but didn’t get any rain at the right time to plant.

Just looked at the 10 day forecast for Wichita Falls and Graham, no chance of rain until the end of the month or 1st of November.
If you planted how are the plants looking, if you have not planted yet, will you and probably when?

Come on rain!

I put 1300 pounds of 24-6-8 fertilizer down yesterday, cost me 385.00. Seed is bought, probably plant in a few weeks.

How many acres? Curious on the fertilizer.

200 lbs triple 13 disked in. Dusted in seed today. Hoping for rain in the next couple weeks. Better in the ground than in the bag.

I still can't even break ground until we get some rain. It's like dragging the discs over concrete.

Heard about army worms about three weeks ago on the next door neighbor thingy, this was sw wise and ne Parker counties. If they came out here, then they would have had to leave water bottles everywhere, have cracks in the ground 1-2" wide and this is sandy loam!

I saw chance of rain for Jacksboro too and might broadcast some seed. No rain all season so it'll be a last ditch effort. Overseeding into new area so anything grows will be better than seed sitting in my garage...LOL

With all of the rain state wide, bet there is a lot of little Green sprigs popping up in the food plots or very soon will be up
