Had not seen Erwin in awhile. He’s obviously slowing down and acknowledged that. I asked if was still looking forward to getting up to Kendalia and he told me yes but, it was going to be different this year. He gave up his lease of 57 years and his grandson took over. He looked pretty good for being 96.

I don't know who you're talking about but I'm floored at paying for the same lease for 57 years.

If i am still mentally with it at 96 to be handing off a deer lease to a grandson, then i will happily go on. My guess, i will be staring at a blank wall with drool on my lower lip sounding worse than a kamala word salad dressed with joes gibberish.

I have a little ways to go.

Glad you caught up with someone you can aspire to be like Hud. We all need someone like that in life.

This is truly inspiring for me. I’ve done budgeting planning for retirement and factor in my biggest expense which is hunting. I’ve had to think about how old I’ll be when I stop hunting. My number wasn’t 96. Maybe that’s not good news cause I’ll hafta go back to work….

I can’t remember exactly what it was but I read if you made it to something like 86 the odds of making it into your 90’s was pretty high.

I still want to dip out pretty early. Being an old man isn’t that appealing to me

For it is not the quarry that we truly seek, but the adventure.

Men in my family have lately checked out within 4 to 7 years of my age now. It's a sobering thought. Mom lived to 96, but with dementia for several of the last years, so, not an appealing goal either. I'm fairly healthy, but when the aches and pains start, hell, I can't even imagine 80! Just working on, and praying for, an increasing and unwavering faith. up
