I have a new deer lease in that seems to have a real problem with hogs and coyotes. I have 4 feeders set up and hogs hit all of them every single night. For Coyotes, I catch several of them on camera every week, and have cross their paths at least half the times I have been out there.
I need a predator call and a thermal setup for my ar to address this issue and I am looking for recommendations.
I personally never have to have the best of the best or the most expensive gear. I prefer to purchase gear that is the best value of performance versus cost. Also, reliability, longevity, and ease of use are important to me. Basically, I want to buy a tried and trusted, dependable thermal setup and predator call but do not want to be at the top end of the price spectrum.
Any suggestions/

We need to know where you’re hunting (terrain) and budget.
Calls and thermals can get real expensive. You could easily get away with a $50 mouth call and entry level $2000 thermal, or spend thousands on an electric call and $10,000 on a thermal.

Foxpro makes several models that can fit your needs. I rarely use thermals for coyotes anymore. If you’re not shining a bright white light in their eyes, they can see you.

The best inexpensive thermal and one of the absolute easiest to use that I would recommend would be the Rix Strom S3 which is a 384 resolution thermal. I would not go with less resolution for a thermal hunting scope because as resolution decreases, identification ability decreases. In this video, I took a couple of coyotes at 225 yards. A better shooter could get more out of this scope than me, but 225 is beyond the average that most folks are hunting coyotes at night, so the capability is there.
