I haven’t cleaned up my bait/mineral pile yet. I have left it alone to see what we have around here. I have other places to hunt. Anyway I had up to 4 deer on camera in this little spot at one time until one of the neighbor’s dogs showed up. Then they became scarce, one doe every 2-4 days. Well, this guy showed up last night. I think it’s a big old bobcat. What do ya’ll think?

This i think is a big bobcat

I am thinking about putting some meat out there. I can hunt them over bait here.

MB 550 trap but that dog will be the first thing in it. He won’t do it twice.

Coyote and no bait is needed for a bobcat.
However, why shoot one when the hide is not prime? Wait until say Feb.

I was thinking the same about shooting a bobcat, wait until the fur is prime. Shooting one now is kind of like shooting a big buck after he shed. Coyotes, i dont care. If i see him ill pop him, and i wont even take the time to find him. I don’t know what to tell you, i hate them with my whole heart. If i can get an arrow in one, i will probably try to get a grip and grin.

There were like 3 or 4 doe/fawn pairs on camera on a good day and one doe with two fawns, now i see a fawn maybe once a week? Since September 4th there is one doe/fawn pair that comes in occasionally. I guess i have to learn how to trap coyotes if I want to see deer

I did not see any mn550’s but i picked up three of these “bridger #2” traps because it says it’s good for both coyotes and raccoons and i want them both out of here. Got some rebar stakes and some lure, too. Caven’s “yodel dog” and caven’s “minnesota brand”. I do not even know where to start with this deal. Any pointers? I think i am supposed to boil them?

Clean those new traps with some Dawn and hot water, get the oil off of them.
Then you can use them without spooking the coyotes.

Will do. I went back and got bridger #3’s instead. I am so mad at myself, I wish i would have already got after the coyotes here. I should have known.

Recently caught my neighbors dog in a jaw trap. Zero thumbs up would not recommend. If it had been the dog that was actually killing my daughters chickens I would feel different.

My neighbors dog is beloved by my woman and my daughters. I will let the coyotes have every fawn for the love of my woman. No harm must come to that dog. I gotta be smart about this.
