We have been seeing this for on game camera for months and I had originally thought she was transitioning from summer to winter coat.

This weekend I was able to see her in person and her coat looks smooth but different patches of color. Then I noticed her tail was bobbed and her ears deformed.

She looks healthy and is nursing a yearling.

Any idea of what would cause this?

Man look at those ears.. Maybe just really old? Or road rash maybe? The coloration of the markings don't look quite sharp enough to be piebald

Ears could have been caused by frostbite.

I'd rather not go into detail, but if you have to know research burn injuries. Trust me though, it's not for the faint of heart.
