Seems a little early for the boys to be fighting in S. TX, maybe it broke off some other way?

Had a fight this weekend in Young Co. I've seen it in October but was surprised this early.

My bucks seem really tense for as early as it is. Not sure if that's just at the feeder or if some of the does are smelling funny already. I've had a couple of does on camera peeing in front of bucks.

1. My feeling is they will fight anytime they are in hard antler. They know what’s coming and they want to make sure everybody knows who’s the boss before it really matters.
2. That is an amazing antler. Like to see the other side.
3. A good taxi can fix it:)

That deer was estimated at 4 1/2 and was not going to be on the kill list.

My bucks in the panhandle are still grouped, but they sure look swole for September. A bit early, IME.

I have/ had 5 yard bucks showing up every night. this week just one or two. they aren’t running together anymore. Last couple nights they were together they were chasing each other and running each other off. [Linked Image]

Working on a feeder way at the back of where we hunt and found a fresh scrape on September 17th in Harrison County, Tx near Longview. Sure does seem early up this way also. Most pictures at feeders are single bucks also.

Beautiful antler Hud. Would love to see the before pic of him.

Makes it really easy now for anyone to not shoot.

I have a deer decoy that we can shave off a little to add some rump and belly to him as well, make him look 6.5 for Hud.

That way he could get mad at us for shooting a "young" buck.

I like the way you think FR!

That deer ain't where I hunt; it's a buddy's place. I am guessing you guys must've slept at a Holiday Inn Express recently.

3 weeks ago. The little guy nose punched the big guy like a dog will do. The big guy gave him a GTH look right as I took the pic. The big guy is slicked off now and smashed the same little guy a few days ago. They are just sparring here now but apparently he got tired of being nose punched.

I guess that's my problem...lately been more of a Motel6 budget...and my "I stayed at a Holiday inn express" knowledge is about that same Motel6 budget too.
