I just have a small Honda 2200 for all that. And I really don’t get why a battery energy storage unit is called a generator. But…on the positive side, I guess I’ve had a ‘solar generator’ at my front gate for 15 years.

My question on those with solar generators is how long they stay charged when not in use.

I have a Jackery that holds the charge for at least a year. That’s the longest it has sat without use.

That’s legit! Thanks. I occasionally see some on QVC or something and they sound interesting.

Couple different sizes. One just used to charge phones and run a led light etc. one runs a fridge and lights etc on his cabin. Home Depot has some on their daily specials looks like today but Bluetti runs a big sale Black Friday.

To be frank, Proline, for your purposes I don't get why you are considering a battery rather than a generator. 603 is right, these things are misnamed, they don't generate anything unless you have them hooked up to a solar panel, and that becomes costly and cumbersome. Having said that, I use them all the time. I use Ecoflow. I use them in a camper to supplement the internal batteries. They are quiet, they don't smoke, you can use them inside. If you don't need power for a really long time, you can use them and then recharge them when you get home (or while you drive). But I also have generators. If I were doing outdoor work at a lease -- outside, maybe heavy use for a while, no worries about noise or fumes -- man, that would clearly be a job for a gas generator, not a fancy battery.

I had dozens of M18 12 amp batteries already but being I already had the batteries I bought one of these Milwaukee’s and surprisingly it works great for quick jobs that require 110 volts. If you don’t already have some batteries I’d stick to a 2,000 watt Honda genny and roll on though..

First figure out how much power you need for each hunting trip. Then decide if you will charge this at home, use it, bring it home to recharge, or hook it up to solar panels at the lease. Look at the battery storage, and inverter size. Some top brands are EcoFlow, Bluetti, and Ankler. Here is what I have that I use at home. Energizer PPS2000W01 Power Station. I have it hooked up to 4 250 watt solar panels. Solar panels can be found used on Craigslist, or Facebook Marketplace. New at Signature Solar. There are many great videos about this on Youtube. I don't know your needs, but to do much of anything I suggest at least 2000 watts of battery storage, and a 2000 watt inverter. Good luck.
