sunset 9/22/24 Campbell Park, Lampasas, TX

Most sunsets a herd of ~20 deer frequent here including seven decent bucks 8, 10, & 12pointers; they say there's a 14pt there but I haven't seen it. Few weeks ago these were in velvet. Short sparring sessions 1-2mins duration started this week. I don't hunt no more (still trap and fish) but still love the song of rattling antlers. Will try to get clearer pics, hope these suffice for now.

have you seen the buck in the 2nd to last page of the daily photos thread?

Would that be page 144? I see elk, and axis deer? or some other species, but no Whitetail.

Oh yes I saw that on the last page of the daily photos thread, page 145, not the 2nd to last page. Hadn't realized that buck was here in Lampasas; looks like still in velvet? pic taken couple months ago? Are you here in Lampasas HudBone? There are some biguns here and not at all wary of humans = they walk right down the middle of many roads after dark. Drive by Brown's feed you'll see them eating the spilt corn in the parking lot. And lots of folks put out cheap cat food for ferals, which the main ingredient = soy/corn so the deer are eating that too LOL

Nope, I live in New Barnflies. A buddy took it while passing through.
