Looking for a place to go with my 15yo son, not wanting to deer hunt. Mainly looking for a place to shoot some pigs/varmints. Would just use a pop up blind or walk around. Basically just looking for some place to get away and spend some time outside with him. We are respectful, not looking for a place to go nuts, will leave it nicer than we find it. Would prefer within a couple hours of Sachse, I don’t mind pref NeTX or out East. Thanks,

We have done public land before, prefer to not be around anyone else. We didn’t run into many folks when we did, but one is too many, lol

Sounds like the TPWD drawn hunts would be perfect for you. They will assign you a compartment or blind to yourselves so you will not be around other hunters. The Hog and Exotic hunts don't draw until Nov 1st. Many of the Youth ones have decent odds of drawing compared to others.
