I have gotten picked for the Deer/Management hunt in early December of this year. Has anyone been out there the last year or two and are the deer plentiful around the Daughtrey headquarters? I'm hoping to kill two deer (for meat.)

I hunted out there this past spring for turkey. I was in compartment 2. Saw a decent about of does and young bucks. Most of them were towards the left side of the compartment.

Daughtery is literally one of the best draws you can get in combination of success and size. I was there 2 times last year for youth hunts. You can definitely get a doe. The management restrictions make the buck a littler harder but my son shot the largest doe there last year at 84lbs dressed and had a massive buck walk out but the only misfire his rifle has ever had to date was when he pulled the trigger, then I freaked out and made too much noise trying to drop the mag, and it walked off. He also shot a decent size doe opening antlerless youth weekend. Pretty high population of deer, lots of hogs, tons and tons of coyotes that will come into camp 10 feet from your tent at night, and tons of javelina. Definitely a fun place and well ran.
