I have some corn feeder in pens for deer but want to add a few for hogs. I really like the lamco stand a fill feeders but am concerned that the hogs will rub against the legs and bend them. Has anyone had any experience with this? I guess I'm just soliciting advice on a stand and fill feeder that's sturdy enough to left unprotected as a hog feeder.

I have one Lamco low and throw feeder and a few others, and never had a bent leg due to hogs. The Low and Throw slings the corn far enough that there’s no reason for a hog to lean on it or push it to get corn. When I buy another feeder it’ll be a Lamco Low and Throw.

Hogs had torn down/knocked over my deer feeder. Took cable & ran it between two trees with corn slinger on timer. Don't know if that helps. No legs ta knock over.

We have some Llamco feeders with no pens around them and the hogs have not bent or tore them up. One thing they have done is dig under them, due to our sandy soils, and this has tipped the feeders (not completely tipped them over, but leaning way over) trying to get the corn out.

I TPost my feeder legs with tie wire. Nothing moves them..

I have used a 400lb All Seasons stand and fill for my primary pig feeder for 7-8 years now, staked down. Prior was a 55gal tripod with t-posts along the legs. Never had a problem with either. Both inside a pen with holes cut out on the bottom. Second setup is a 600lb Everlast I put up last month, staked down.

This is my solution to cows pushing on feeder legs. No way to drive t posts due to being solid rock 3” under dirt so I made wire baskets around each leg and filled them with 500 pounds of rocks. No issues anymore.

Tractor Supply is clearing out Lamco Low and Throws. I bought a 600# L&T at TS in Breckenridge today for $449. TS is coming out with their own corn feeder so they are no longer going to carry Lamco. 350# are $399.

Never had hogs tip over my feeders (mine have heavy legs) except when one ran out - guess they were some kind of mad at it!

I drove a t post and wired each leg. I wrapped wire around each leg of the feeder and each t post, from the bottom of the t post to the top. Otherwise, the hogs will bend and bust the legs off the feeder.

I take a piece of rebar, drive it in the ground alongside parallel to each feeder leg. If it is rocky, I have always been able to move the feeder a little to find a crack in the rock to drive the rebar in. I use heater hose clamps and a cordless drill or screw gun with a socket to fit the heater hose clamp and close it up tight. I use three clamps per rebar/leg section. One at the bottom, one at the middle, and one at the top. That way if I need to take down or move the feeder I can bring the cordless drill back the clamp off. It only takes a few minutes at most to stake a feeder this way. The rebar is easy to drive in with any kind of hammer. Also since it extends the leg deep in the ground it holds everything level no matter how much dirt the hogs dig out from under your feeder. I would think you could do this with a stand and fill by leaving a shorter section of rebar above ground to pair with the length of the feeder legs.
