We saw a 5 pack and 3 pack nothing escaped. Single in decoys we didn’t take. Nice morning. Will put out some greater Dekes as well. Saw 30-40 roosting back of our lake.

Slow start in SE Louisiana for us. Hurricane Francine did some business to us disrupting the teal we had here before she came. 3 teal Saturday and 4 Sunday. Once things get back to normal it should get better. [Linked Image]

Nice y’all. Looks like the old guys rule. Larry, love the pics of Rosie! Guy your Lab is aging well! Cow doc., it was slow as teal hunting goes. The weather was hot and the alligators were out like every teal season in my part of texas.

Pretty quiet today, we got 5 ducks total, 2 of which GWT- just saw handful of greaters. Pups second hunt, doing great in tough conditions, matted wigeon grass/ coon tail, and lily pads. Handled bubbler fine today- never seen a dog jump backwards 4 feet in the water before in a retrieve !

They either already came through or haven’t hit yet. Typically have a large amount by now but I scoured last Friday and nothing…

I’ll be checking throughout the week. Hopefully we get some..

Always sporadic in NTX during teal. We hunted this weekend and had plenty around shot 3 GWT. I was South of Corpus on some marshes two weeks ago and there were decent wads of teal already down.

Rice country seems to have a ton and consistent like always.

2 woodies in Dekes, didn’t see any teal today. Had more 10 days before season. This may set up well for next week w full moon, and closing weekend

Was down on the Prairie ( Garwood Area ) last 2 days. Tuesday hunt was so so. Today was the worst Teal hunt my friend and guide has had in 40 years. The worst I've ever had. No shooting at all. Dead quiet. Hot, not a lick of wind. 2 birds, 4 guys. Not a shot after 7.15 am.

Bummer.....

I've hunted NTX 4 times so far and have shot 2 BWT..... it's been bad.

I don't think the birds are here yet in any numbers. Not that they are ever really here (NTX) in great numbers for any length of time.

Cool front blowing in monday-tuesday. .maybe that brings some teal.

Might dove hunt this weekend.

You’re not lyin! Went out before work this morning, and didn’t pull the trigger once. I’ve had a pond in the East Bernard area the last 6 years and this was the worst I’ve experienced. I saw maybe 4 groups of bwt and small groups at that. Saturday sounded like Ukraine, today the total opposite. My suspicion is they moved out and are continuing south. Hoping a new wave pushes down, but looking at the prairie weather conditions up north I’m not counting on it. Still better than the office though.

From my experience early teal season in NTX, seems like the opener and first week is always the best, and then bird numbers go down after that. Can't say I ever remember it starting out slow and got better. I normally pass on teal second half of season and switch back to dove, which I may do this weekend not sure yet.

Fatboy DP? I been wanting to buy a deck cover for mine, and they are always out of stock, for years now.

https://momarsh.com/products/deck-cover

Ever since Higdon Outdoors bought momarsh, the website seems dead, and every time I call Higdon they say do kit have date when they will be back in stock. I want one just easier to grass up, and take it on and off easier. I had it all grassed up but took it all off because I needed fishing rig this summer, I sold my gator trax and having a new one built.

I rigged my spot lock trolling motor on it for fishing, it worked great at the boat ramp, I could launch it, hit spot lock, and go park my truck.

They had 16 groups out on Wednesday and 10 of them never fired a shot. I think the super moon moved a bunch of birds south and if there is not a push in the next few days, it could be a long 2nd week !

It was a refuge runner, from what I can tell it's almost identical to the momarsh hull.

Overall it looks like a pretty sweet rig/setup. I'm going to have to just pull the trigger on one sooner than later.

If it starts good, typically shoot teal entire time. We hunted dove this weekend- hit teal this weekend
