As for as I know, 21 for any handgun, 18 for long gun.

If the 2nd amendment was written just to include guns for hunting, why is there not an amendment to protect fishing poles?

Here's the state law on this as well, section 46.06(2)

https://statutes.capitol.texas.gov/Docs/PE/htm/PE.46.htm#46.06

FFL to private party buying a handgun must be 21 or older

Private party to private party, only need to be 18 or older

Weird, huh?

Here’s weird. Many years ago a licensed peace officer in Texas only had to be 18 years old. A Johnson County Sheriff’s Deputy would come into our gun shop a couple of times a year with his mom because she had to buy his duty weapon’s ammunition. He tried not to look embarrassed as much as he could roflmao

How does this discrepancy in age affect carrying the revolver? 18 ok, or still 21?

That's like the Army and Marine Corps will make an 18 year old responsible for a tank or field artillery. But he can't buy a pistol.
