The Texas Parks and Wildlife Department (TPWD) is considering changes to the current mule deer archery seasons to increase hunting opportunity. The proposed changes include extending the archery-only season and consolidating the Managed Lands Deer Program (MLDP) archery-only and all-weapon seasons for mule deer. TPWD does not anticipate that these changes will have any negative biological impact on the mule deer population.

It's a survey regarding extending the archery mule deer seasons to extend into rifle seasons on MLD ground. Mule deer populations are down the past few years so there's no way they'll just extend the season.

Thanks jgraider. I had no idea you couldn’t use archery equipment during MLD rifle season for MD. MLD season encompasses the rut, I read it as they are looking for comments on expanding Archery only season for non MLD properties into MLD season. I could be wrong but if right I’d vote for it
