These days decoys can be expensive off the store shelves. I started repainting and flocking my decoys during the off-seasons about 20 years ago. There is a booklet that has information on paint colors for ducks and geese gives color codes for Lowes Home Depot and Walmart paint departments Also I have been using fowl flocker to order all flocking colors for my decoys, they get nicked up and touch them up with a little oil based paint and flocking. I fully flocked 3 dozen Mallards out of box couple years ago and made them look 10x better.

Decoys can take a beating during the grind hunting them birds every year and its important to keep them looking good and its paid off for me. It has even minimized my calling at birds they see them decoys and a lot of times they are locked in and coming. I'm sure there are others out there that do the same and restore touch up every year. Just wanted to bring up this topic as its been a big part of my success keeping a realistic spread and taking care of decoys to last for years.
