Hot dry summer and the only dove are the ones hanging around what's left of the water, I've got two waterholes that where covered up in dove. Yesterday we got 4 1/2 inches of rain and now there's water everywhere. Fixing to start raining again and more for the next couple of days. There's more water on the side roads than in all the ponds. Ponds filled up into the weeds so there's no place for the dove to get to water. Happens damn near every year.
Yes! A Weatherby does kill them deader.

I'd rather have the rain Mike. Haven't even looked at a shotgun yet. It's rained so much I have 40-50 teal swimming around up at my gate in the field.

Yep. I had a great spot for dry weather. Covered up in dove a week ago. Totally rained out. Oh well.

I got 24 in 2 hunts up in Throckmorton County before the skies opened up late morning yesterday. Needed this rain bad though, it was super dry.
