I notice acorns are starting to develop and there are not alot of them out of the dozen or so trees I've checked. I'm on the Burnet/Llano county line.

mine in Georgetown seem lower numbers than usual and the ones I do have are very small in size.

My trees are loaded here in Palo Pinto county. Some already starting to fall.. the last 3 years has been rough on my oak trees, probably over half of them have died.

Looked around the property this weekend, and some trees have several, some have almost none. Doesn't appear to be the bumper crop we all dread, so there's that.

Not many acorns around Menard County. Hopefully, it will keep raining so that we can grow some grass before winter. We won't grow many weeds until it cools off so deer browse will remain short. Deer should really come to the feeders. Adios, Gary

My theory is that they produce more in dry years. In heavy rain years the trees aren't stressed as much and don't seek to gen up a bunch of replacements.

I have a couple oaks near a creek bottom and they are now starting to drop some acorns, not large but a fair amount, few does already found them. With good spring rains and pretty good summer moisture looks like a pretty good year for deer here near Lake Somerville, western Washington County, 20 miles west of Brenham Tx.
Just need some more Blue Bell Ice Cream.
