Congratulations. It’s not an easy hunt, but they do produce some pretty nice bucks.

Gus engeling is a fun hunt for sure. Was there three times last year all in different compartments and between youth and doe won three more this year. There is a good population of deer there but get very spooked as the season goes on so archery is probably good. There are TONS of hogs. Acorns are literally everywhere so corn isnt going to do much and because of this we processed a couple of the hogs and some of the best hog I have ever had. Super clean also-no flees or ticks at all which is surprising due to the location. The hunts are very well ran. You get to pick your top three compartments and I always got my first choice. If you are going to camp the camp area by the road has water but is very very noisy from trucks all throughout the night. The campground in the interior is dead quiet but coyotes all around you. You can drive between the two and we will stay in the interior one this year which also has covered areas so just left our coolers and cooks stuff up and since entire area is locked no worries about random people stealing it. Good luck.
