Do y'all add anything else in your feeders for turkeys (besides Milo)? I've heard black oil sunflower seeds?

No need, corn is just as attractive as smaller seeds for turkeys

I scatter in some milo. I think they hit it harder than when it's just corn.

I like to bring a .17 hmr to the stand with me and put a turkey or 2 back for Thanksgiving. If you pick location / timing right, it doesn't even much disturb the deer hunt.

Good idea. I have a .17 that I really haven't found a good use for, so I'll try it. I do loan out my .22 Hornet at every youth and adult hunt and encourage everybody to get one. up

Absolutely, black sunflower seeds are a great choice to add to turkey feeders! They’re loaded with essential nutrients, including healthy fats and vitamins, which can really boost your turkeys’ diet. Besides sunflower seeds, you might want to consider mixing in other grains like wheat, barley, or corn. These additions also help ensure a balanced diet. Each type of grain has its own set of nutrients that can complement the sunflower seeds and offer a more well-rounded diet for your turkeys.
If you’re looking to keep your turkeys healthy and happy, variety in their feed is key. Regularly changing up their feed can prevent them from getting bored with their food and ensure they get all the nutrients they need. It’s also important to monitor their health and adjust their feed as needed based on their growth and activity levels. So, adding a mix of grains along with black sunflower seeds can be a great way to provide a nutritious and enjoyable diet for your turkeys.

Mine don’t seem to have a preference but they will step over a bag of feed to chase a grasshopper.
