It’s that time. My local place always has the Outdoor Annuals too.

After learning the hard way this past year that you need the Document Number on your driver's license if you want to go online and request a replacement, I made it a point to record the Doc # for my new Hunting and Fishing license. While I have no idea if it's required or not, I do know you have to go through the hassle of making an appointment with a DPS office if you want a replacement driver's license when you can't request one via the online process. If nothing else, perhaps this comment will encourage others to record the document number on their driver's license.

Got my e-mail on Wed, going today.

As much as I like digital devices, I carry a paper/plastic license for the same reason I still carry a magnetic compass. Neither requires a radio signal or a battery.

Learned that the hard way several years ago.
Now I take a picture of my DL and keep it in my phone. FYI, the ID # changes when you have to renew your DL.

I tell lots of folks to do this.

Only the government would require a number shown on a license you don't have to request a replacement.

I have multiple state hunting license on my phone, and battery pack for my phone and wearables. No issues, and I spend a lot of time off grid. I have a magnetic compass in my pack but is really only needed for back up night nav. With that said 99 % of the people on this forum couldn’t formulate a 6,8, or 10 unit location or even a back azimuth.

Few of our current service members could, but that’s about it, Not saying we all shouldn’t know, we absolutely should but the whole electronic vs magnetic is now just a novel argument.

only at Academy just cuz its where I've been buying it for MANY Years.

Their machines are always "down" when I go, so I have to shop while I wait.

I still get the hard copy license because the digital one doesn’t have a soul. I’m sentimental like that.

Got mine yesterday. Was really simple online including Fed stamp!

They printed me two of them. One was the regular sized Super Combo and the other was just a fish tag I will never use.
