I know some of y'all feed year round, but for those who don't have you filled up your feeders and started throwing corn out of them yet? Heading to the lease next week early in the morning before the heat gets too bad to move 1 stand and fill up some feeders. We usually try and have feeders going by Labor day but of course that doesn't always happen as we usually don't hunt until Mid October it seems like with the warm weather.

It seems that lots of folks used to use Labor Day as a starting point for feeders and work at the lease. I think its safe to say that many still do but many start much sooner or never stop. Especially with the popularity of cameras, most want to draw deer in to see how the racks are developing by late velvet stages(for the excitement, if not the planning.)

I keep 2 out of 7 going all year. This year I have 4 pig feeders going off at night from late Feb. to about now (they're about out), and plenty of deer check those out. 'Put out 3 tons of protein this morning. I'll fill all 7 corn feeders sometime in September.

We let ours run dry in the spring except that we will keep a few of them running with a shorter spin time. I filled them all up a few weeks ago, all with a short spin time. A few weeks before bow season, I will up the spin time of a few of them, and then a week before rifle, I will up the spin time on the rest of them.

I never turn them off, they run year round. I do it to hold them here and we love seeing them on a daily basis.

I filled our feeders the first weekend of August. Usually fill them around the beginning of September but I have a real itch to get things going this year. Only have them feeding in the morning currently, hoping the deer will get to the corn before the hogs. Depending on the weather, I am hoping to do a lot of bow hunting and will feed twice a day during October through the end of season.

On our place we feed a blend of roasted soybeans and corn year round, The deer love it, wifey likes the taste of the soybeans even. Really good protein and way cheaper than antler max. We have one feeder on a little over two hundred acres. One second in the morning and one in the evening. We bump it up during hunting season.

I keep two going and added a third two weeks ago.
I plan on going up once in the next few days to put out the last load of protein and some more corn.
Really debating if I should leave it at 3 feeders during bow season. Normally rotate with 4 but I can’t sit everywhere at once.
For it is not the quarry that we truly seek, but the adventure.

I run mine all year so I have pigs to hunt. But when I didn’t do that, it seemed the longer I waited the better the bucks I would see

I feed all year so the doe’s think of this place as somewhere there’s always food. When the rut comes around the doe’s seem to be the best bait.

That is what we think as well! if heavy with acorns the don't hit the feeders nearly as hard. We have lots of mature Oak trees on the ranch.

My protein feeders never empty. I have half my corn feeders going, started that about a month ago. The other half of corn feeders will be filled about the first of October.
To clarify, I have two corn feeders at each stand location. So each location is getting corn now.

I keep three of my seven feeders going all year long. All seven were filled and serviced (new batteries) the first of July. This year I mixed in a bag of milo into each feeder, Time will tell on the milo.
Distance is not the issue, but the winds can make it interesting!

I filled mine last week and feeder going off 4 seconds twice a day. I don`t feed year-round in an effort to keep the pigs away. It`s cheaper also.

Feed year round. Will be increasing the throw times on the next trip to the lease. Currently around 4 seconds to keep them interested. Will go up to about 7-8 for the season, 2 times a day.
