I realize this is probably not possible as too many mice or varmints would get into it, but I would love to leave enough bags by our furthest feeder at the beginning of the season so it'll be easier to fill up during the year. I don't have a 4-wheeler or anything so using a heavy-duty wagon to drag everything out there is the only option to the 2 feeders I run.
Has anyone ever left corn at their place? I had a buddy that left several bags locked in a shed on his lease that the mice got into and put holes into every bag he had stacked up.
Pretty sure this isn't possible, but just curious if you guys just fill up the feeders as needed, or someone leaves your corn where you hunt.

I keep corn in both 55gal drum(s) and a connex depending on which property I’m at. Rats/mice can just about get into anything not steal and sealed well. Terrible critters!
Take Care, Bub

We accidentally dropped a bag between 2 feeders about a mile apart. By the time we made the rounds the next morning, the bag had been torn open and there were deer tracks everywhere. Too much help tearing open the bags---pigs, javelinas, mice, coons, porcupines, etc.

This is pretty East Texas Ghetto, but I've seen guys find non working fridges and freezers to store corn in. They laid the fridges on their backs and took out the shelves. A LOT of corn in bags were stored in these rat proof self made containers. That said, I don't see a 55 gallon drum with a locking metal ring for the lid being a bad idea.
An unethical shot is one you take, that you know you shouldn't.

We store our bags of corn in 55 gallon drums (not out close to the feeders, but in the barn). You can fit 5 50lb bags or 6 40lb bags in a 55 gallon drum. They do keep the mice out.

55 gallon drums work great..one year I only had trash containers that held about 400 lbs. each.I sealed it up with bungee cords. Worked fine.

I did the bungee cord trash can thing once and ended up with a hornet nest in my corn stash. The bungees held against the coons, but distorted the seal just enough to allow the hornets in.

Ive got 2 55 gallon ring seal drums that I leave extra corn and protein in just in case I may not bring enough or just need a topping off. They both keep everything dry and critter free

I would never leave any at my lease. Don`t see the need. I do keep an extra 15-20 bags in my shop during deer season, so I don`t have to make an extra trip just to get corn. Been doing it for years and never a problem. My cat sleeps in my shop at night and I feed a few wild cats behind my shop. Never even seen a rat turd.
I did leave a 50 lb. bag in my camper once years ago when I was packing up just because I didn`t want to take it back home. Mice found it.

We use to always have a 55 gallon drum at each blind with corn and a bucket in it to hand throw some before getting in blind. Works well for short term storage, but weevils and bugs still get in if left for long term.

I might add that I keep a bag of corn in the back seat of my truck whenever I start hunting on 10-1. I fill a gallon freezer bag every time I hunt for hand corning. That adds up to more than you think since retiring and going many times during a season. I easily went thru 3 bags last season.

on one place I used to hunt, one of the guys found an old non-working chest type freezer that he stored corn in to prevent from having to haul it to the back of the place where he hunted. He stashed it back kinda hidden and painted it a camo pattern so it didn't stick out like a sore thumb. He was pretty pleased with it for the 4-5 years he was on the place. He put a hasp and latch on it to keep animals from opening it .
