Getting geared up for the fall and wanted to see if anyone has experience with the 130gr TTSX in their 308 win?
Would love to hear about terminal results on game and accuracy. I’m trying to decide on bullet weight for 308 in the VORTX ammo line between 130,150,168. Primary use case is hill country whitetails and pigs. Anything bigger and I will use the 30-06 with 175gr LRX.

I loaded some 130 gr TTSX for my daughters 308. Loaded up them down to about 2700 fps. With 4064. Very accurate and good performance on whitetail and hogs. No bullets recovered so far, all complete penetration on two nice bucks .and 3 medium sized hogs.

That’s great to hear. Happy with the expansion and blood trails on those critters?

Why not Hornady, 165 gr. SST's? Many years of 100% success with this on big boars and larger than average white tails. 100% DRT results on deer and hogs.
An unethical shot is one you take, that you know you shouldn't.

There is a thread on here that uses the Lehigh 125 TXC in the 308. Lehigh has developed some outstanding bullets. My wife and I killed about 40 does and bucks using the 125 XC. Not a one fan more than 15 to 20 yds, most were bang flop out to 225 yds. The TXC was developed later and is even better.
If I knew more about computers, I would post the thread which has the load data for the 308 and Lehigh 125 TCC. Thanks Daniel

Only 1 buck didn’t drop in their tracks. The one that ran, ran about 30 yards. All exits were about quarter size. Very impressed with the accuracy and performance. I drew an antelope tag in Utah this year, and worked up a load with that bullet to use, instead of my trusty 270.

I’m gonna have to order a box to try out and see. Thanks for the feedback!

Thanks for the feedback and good shooting! Seems like you’ve done your part on shot placement and good blood trail/terminal performance as well especially on the bear. You have that load dialed in. Thanks for the help!

I use the 130gr Barnes ttsx in my 270. Very accurate, I also soot the Barnes 180gr in my 300 Weatherby. I recovered the bullet from a 7x7 bull elk in the fall of 2020. Entered on the right side. It took out the top of his heart and was found in the off side shoulder by the processor. Still intact, bull was about 80 yards. At the shot he kinda humped up a bit and hopped about 3 steps. I started to shoot again but he stopped and was wobbling. I was squeezing the trigger and my guide said he's done for. By this time he toppled over out of sight, We both ran up there as the guide said there was a really deep draw there. Got lucky I guess. A tree stopped him from going to the bottom. No damage to the antlers or rack.
