Had a buddy with a group get scammed on a pronghorn hunt this fall. Guy by the name of Tim Rawlings who operates out of NM and apparently AZ. Unfortunately a quick and easy internet search suggests he's had issues with licenses being denied/revoked in the past, may have saved them the trouble. Sounds like the organizer may not be getting whatever money they paid back, but was refunding the others in the group out of his own pocket.

This individual is also not listed on the NM DGF active outfitters report. For those looking to hunt in NM this is a great resource to check before you book, just to ensure you're actually working with a licensed guide.

Morning Gentlemen, Long time reader but just now joined. I will be retiring after 30 years of teaching and will be wanting to start doing some hunts. Can anyone recommend some good trustworthy folks to get in touch with about hunts. I guess a booking agent?

Just know that any 3rd party agent will be taking his cut and making your hunt substantially more expensive.

So best to just find outfitters then, I take it??

Your asking your question on a thread warning about a potential scammer. I would suggest starting a new thread with your question and more appropriate title to your post so some of these outfitters and people willing to help you will see it. Also, include what type of hunting your looking for? Small game, big game, exotics, etc. Fully outfitted or DIY or something in between. Also include that your from out of state and if your moving here or just travel here to hunt so they can better help you.
