Will try these here shortly and substitute a strip of fresh-roasted Hatch chile for the pickled jalapeños. Using Johnsonville Beef Brats for the doggies. Ought to be good. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AL4kqAi-0jc

Wife loves hot dogs and grilled cheese sammich's, we will definitely give them a try!

TPACK, that's a great idea, but I don't have any chili in the freezer and I "ain't-a-gonna" whomp up a batch when it is 109. So I'll try them straight this evening with cole slaw and an ear of corn. I am adding your suggestion to the recipe, though.

I just had a call from my neighbor who was coming back from Colorado and pulling his camper thru Sweetwater. He said it was crazy hot there and wanted me to turn down the AC in his house since it was set at 82. It got to 99.7 here and already started back down. Still nothing like last summer. Thank God.

Wolf would work, and so would the Brookshire's house brand. These things sure are filling. I only had room for one and the strip of Hatch added just the right amount of flavor and heat. I think the guy's method of making diagonal cuts in the frank before grilling does in fact add some nice crunch. I don't have a fancy flat grill so just did them on the range in a Lodge cast iron skillet. These would be great in hunting camp.
